Steve Phillips purchased Show Biz Productions in September 1979 from Hirsh De la Viez. Hirsh had run Show Biz Productions since the 1940's booking many big name entertainers before developing a Casino Night niche. When Steve took over the business he brought in professional equipment as well as a trained staff of Croupiers/Dealers. Steve parlayed his experience working with his mother who ran an entertainment agency called the Alan Theatrical Agency and merged these talents with his love of Casino games. He pioneered the business in this area paving the way for many to follow.
Steve realized that he needed to be on the other side of the table in playing these games, in the spirit of fun and fundraising and that it is a worthwhile endeavor. Steve worked with many of the prominent fundraisers in the Baltimore and Washington area as well as corporate associations and in the social arena, such as Bar/ Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, Quinces, etc.. In the late 90's the operation expanded to the Florida area. Besides the Baltimore and Washington offices Steve also has offices in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Naples to service his Florida clientele.
Steve is the past president of the National Association of Casino Party Operators and has won numerous industry awards including " The Best Large Production". The event included 150 Croupiers as well as 125 gaming tables, which was the largest Casino Night ever produced in the history of the District of Columbia. There were 2,500 guests in attendance. Steve's experience working in a real casino as well as having pioneered the Casino Fun Night industry as one of the country's first special event companies to produce these kind of mock, or just-for-fun casino events, makes him uniquely qualified to produce your event ! We look forward to working with you on creating an exciting, interactive and unforgettable entertainment experience.
