The National Association of Catering Executives (NACE), Greater Washington DC Chapter has awarded the ‘Best Corporate Event of the Year’ Award to Steve Phillips and Casino Parties by Show Biz Productions at their annual awards gala. The event, which the award was for, took place on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the MGM National Harbor, in National Harbor, Maryland. The event was for the current Stanley Cup Champions, The Washington Capitals, which was their 7th annual Casino Night. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for the Washington Capitals players to engage with their fans over the various casino games which create a feeling of camaraderie as they all play against the dealer. The Casino Entertainment helps create an atmosphere where the ice is immediately broken; it’s also a chance for the fans to get up close and really engage with their favorite players in a fun, social setting. Some of the prizes for the event included jerseys, sticks, and pucks that were autographed by the players as well as tickets to upcoming games. This event was also a media frenzy; present were the four major metropolitan DC television stations, local cable sports networks and a multitude of newspaper reporters. WNBC Channel 4 News had their own Blackjack Table that they featured on Facebook Live as they discussed the event with Channel 4 sports personality Rob Carlin. This table had dual cameras including a rigging with overhead shots, which made for a spectacular cinematic effect.
